A man was arrested in the Dniprovs'kyi district of Kyiv for launching fireworks from the balcony of a high-rise building. The individual, who was under the influence of alcohol, set off the pyrotechnic device, alarming local residents.

Police received reports about the incident and dispatched an investigative team to the scene.

The offender was identified as a 43-year-old local resident, found by police at his home. A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol level of 3.11 promille. He explained that he intended to celebrate a family occasion in this manner.

Authorities seized the used launch device and informed the man of the suspicion under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for hooliganism, which carries a penalty of up to five years of restriction of liberty.
