The Security Service of Ukraine arrested a 42-year-old conscript in Kharkiv who served in an assault brigade of the National Guard and was working for the enemy.
Details: Investigations revealed that the agent was correcting Russian airstrikes on the locations of his own unit, as stated by the security service.
According to the prosecution, the suspect, holding pro-Russian views, established contact with an FSB officer via Telegram.
As a platoon commander, the agent was leaking coordinates of command posts, training centers, and reserve points of the military unit where he served. He was also supposed to provide his curator with lists of officers and the unit’s strength from the company to the battalion.
After providing the intelligence, the FSB promised the agent to arrange his “evacuation” to Russia across the front line in the Kharkiv direction. Law enforcement uncovered the “mole” and arrested him.
During the documentation of the agent's crimes, comprehensive measures were taken to secure the locations of the defense forces, emphasized the SBU. A phone containing evidence of his collaboration with the Russian special service was seized from the detainee.
Currently, SBU investigators have notified the agent of suspicion of treason committed under martial law.
The suspect is now in custody.
