In Obolon, a minor fatally assaulted a 40-year-old man during a conflict. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
In Kyiv, investigators have charged a 16-year-old local resident with brutally beating a 40-year-old man while drinking alcohol. The victim died in the hospital without regaining consciousness.
Emergency services alerted the police about an unconscious man with multiple injuries on Polar Street. A crime scene investigation team and detectives from the Obolon Police Department were dispatched to the scene.
The circumstances of the crime were established through the collaborative efforts of operatives, criminal analysis analysts, juvenile prevention inspectors, and investigators. Law enforcement determined that a 16-year-old teenager was involved in the crime. During a search of his residence, mobile phones and clothing with blood traces were seized.
According to the investigation, the teenager met the victim shortly before the incident. A quarrel arose between them during drinking, escalating into a brutal fight. The boy struck the man with his hands, feet, and a wooden stick on the head and body, then fled the scene.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the 40-year-old man died in the hospital.
Under the procedural guidance of the Obolon District Prosecutor's Office, the minor was charged under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—intentional severe bodily injury resulting in death. The court has ordered him to be held in custody without the possibility of bail.
For his actions, the boy faces up to 10 years of imprisonment.
