According to law enforcement, they received a report about the attempted abduction of a child by a taxi driver.

Investigators found that the girl was playing near her home when a Peugeot car approached her.

A stranger exited the vehicle and forcefully pushed the child into the cabin.

Fortunately, the girl managed to open the door and flee to safety.

The police quickly located and detained the 39-year-old perpetrator.

Investigators from the Fastiv district police department have initiated a criminal case under part 2 of Article 15 (attempt) and part 2 of Article 146 (illegal deprivation of liberty) of the Criminal Code.

He will soon be informed of the charges and a preventive measure will be chosen.

The maximum penalty for this offense is 5 years of imprisonment.
