The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved additional funding distribution to local budgets for the acquisition of new school buses in 2025.

The funds will be directed to 10 regions that are in urgent need of updating their fleet for transporting students and teachers.

This decision represents a significant step towards ensuring quality and safe in-person education for every child, regardless of their place of residence or security situation.

The subsidy will enable communities to purchase new school buses, including those specially equipped for transporting children with special educational needs. The purchases will be carried out with co-financing from local budgets and through the Prozorro Market platform, which will significantly shorten the procurement timelines.

The following regions will receive the buses:

  • Dnipropetrovsk region
  • Zaporizhzhia region
  • Kirovohrad region
  • Mykolaiv region
  • Odesa region
  • Sumy region
  • Kharkiv region
  • Khmelnytskyi region
  • Cherkasy region
  • Chernihiv region

The total amount of the distributed subsidy is 273.7 million UAH.

This is part of a larger government program that anticipates 1.6 billion UAH for the purchase of over 500 buses for communities in 2025. The priority will be given to hub schools, military lyceums, institutions that accept students from other territories, and schools that have lost transport due to the war. It is important to note that since the beginning of the year, communities have already purchased 110 buses.
