As part of a century-long partnership agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, a new educational initiative named UK-Ukraine School Partnerships has been launched.

This was announced by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

UK-Ukraine School Partnerships: collaborative projects for students

The program began its work in April 2025, uniting Ukrainian and British educational institutions in long-term partnership projects focused on the theme of “The Joy of Reading.”

The primary goal is to foster intercultural exchange, enhance language skills, and develop cooperation between students and educators from both countries.

The first participants in the partnership include 15 schools from Ukraine and 15 from the UK.

In total, 100 educational institutions will participate in the program during 2025-2026 – 50 from each country.

The second and third groups of partner schools will commence their activities in the fall of 2025.

Partner schools will collaboratively work on educational projects for at least 4-6 months, with the possibility of extension.

They will have access to resources provided by the British Council and the National Literacy Fund of the United Kingdom, as well as their own educational materials.

The Ministry emphasizes that participation in the program will help students and teachers from both countries to better understand each other’s culture, actively use the English language in communication, and integrate reading into the learning process.

Educators will have opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement.

Ukrainian students temporarily residing in the UK will be able to maintain connections with Ukrainian culture and education through this program.

The UK-Ukraine School Partnerships is a new initiative funded by the British Council and supported by the UK Department for Education.

This program is part of the 100-year partnership agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
