At the educational-scientific center «Institute of Biology and Medicine», a new astrobiology laboratory will soon be established, serving as the foundation for the future Astrobiology Center, as reported by KNU.
This initiative emerged following a visit from Professor Charles Cockell of the University of Edinburgh, who is the director of the UK Centre for Astrobiology.
The project is being implemented with the support of British partners and aims to develop a new interdisciplinary field that integrates biology, astronomy, geology, astrophysics, and other sciences.
Meeting participants at KNU emphasized that the future Astrobiology Center will be a platform for international collaboration, new research, and educational programs that can engage talented youth and open up new prospects for Ukraine in space technology.
