The Ukrainian government, in a meeting on April 18, decided to allocate 830 million UAH for enhancing shelters in schools.
This information was announced by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, via his Telegram channel.
"These funds are intended for the continuation of shelter improvements and enhancing safety conditions in educational institutions. 15 territorial communities will receive funding, as well as the regional budgets of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated on the Telegram channel.
According to him, over the past two years, the government has allocated a record 14 billion UAH for safety enhancements in schools.

In 2024, Kyiv allocated 2.4 billion UAH for shelters, improving fire safety in schools, preparing them for winter, and creating educational centers for the subject "Defense of Ukraine".
