In Kyiv, 18 new digital sports routes have been established for active leisure. Now, thanks to navigation systems, residents and visitors can exercise while learning interesting facts about the city's history and culture. This was reported by Oksana Hovorova, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration and Kyiv City Council member.
“These routes are another step towards promoting active leisure for Kyiv residents. We want everyone to have the opportunity to improve their psychological and physical well-being through sports,” Hovorova stated. Navigation systems will be installed in every district of Kyiv, featuring informational signs along the routes to help people navigate and access digital content. Using the QR codes on the signs, users can listen to audio guides and view 3D objects and VR tours. Hovorova expressed gratitude to Adidas for contributing to the establishment of this navigation system.
Currently, navigation has been installed on 10 routes in various districts of the capital, with the remaining 8 planned for completion soon. The routes were developed in collaboration with the mass sports association, considering convenience and popularity among runners. The KP “HIOC” team digitized the routes and placed them on the tourist hub guide.kyivcity.gov.ua.

Some examples of routes include:

  • Holosiivski Hills;
  • Obolon Run;
  • Volodymyrska Hill — Park Alley.

Each route has its own audio guide that can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the signposts along the pathway. The digital version also includes 10 3D objects and 5 VR tours.
This project was implemented in partnership with Adidas, which provided the installation of navigation signs with QR codes that grant access to audio guides, 3D objects, and VR tours.

As a reminder, Kyiv has opened the first barrier-free sports complex in Ukraine. “LokoChoko” will be a new sports hub in the Solomianskyi district, where both children and veterans can train, as sports are essential for recovery and psychological support.
