In the Desnyansky district of Kyiv, efforts are underway to improve pedestrian crossings by lowering curbs to make the city more accessible for everyone. The Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration reports that this year, specialists from the KP SHEU of Desnyansky district have lowered curbs at 29 pedestrian crossings.

«Tactile navigation has also been implemented for individuals with visual impairments, road markings have been applied, and the asphalt surface of the most damaged sections of the roadway and sidewalks has been restored,» the department stated.

These measures enhance road safety and contribute to creating a comfortable and safe environment for all pedestrians.

Recently, the KP SHEU workers in the Desnyansky district also established a barrier-free space near the Administrative Services Center located at 29 Chervonoyi Kalyny Avenue.

They organized barrier-free access to 4 public transport stops, created a parking area with designated spots for people with disabilities and their companions, and restored the asphalt surface of the sidewalks.
