The presentation of the book by the defender of the Donetsk airport and People’s Hero of Ukraine, Alexander Tereshchenko, titled «Life After 16:30. Seven Years Later», was held in the capital of Ukraine. The book is available in Braille and audio format.
Lesya Petrivska, the Commissioner of the Kyiv City Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, attended the event.
Lesya Petrivska stated: «The author of this book, Alexander Tereshchenko, defended the Donetsk airport in 2014, and due to his injuries, he lost vision in one eye, his right arm, and the wrist of his left hand, but he did not lose faith in himself. He serves as an example of courage and humanity. Listening to him, you realize that inner strength is greater than any loss. This story inspires not only veterans but each of us to believe in ourselves, support others, and never give up. The book recounts a real experience that can uplift many. Alexander speaks candidly about his pain and losses, yet emphasizes the importance of not being alone. Such books are essential for veterans, as they encourage them to speak out and seek help. I am pleased that this publication is accessible to people with visual impairments; it is a significant step forward».
