Kyivenergo is actively installing new meters in buildings that previously lacked them.

New devices are also replacing those that have malfunctioned or have been stolen. According to the municipal enterprise, in 2025, Kyivenergo continues its program to install heating meters in apartment buildings.

This program started back in 2020. This year, more than 300 new meters are planned to be installed in Kyiv, along with about 100 to replace stolen or irreparable devices. This represents a 25% increase compared to 2024.

So far, 53 new meters have already been installed, which is 12% of the planned number for this year.

“Kyiv is a leader among Ukrainian cities in equipping residential buildings with heating meters. Currently, there are over 10,200 meters installed, covering approximately 90% of the housing stock. We aim to gradually increase the number of meters. This year, even more customers will pay for the actual heat consumed by their buildings,” said Konstantin Lopatkin, director of the Energy Supply Department at Kyivenergo.

If a meter is not installed, billing is done based on government Methodology No. 315. This means that the cost of heating for customers is calculated taking into account the thermal load of the building, the number of hours of heat supply, and the average monthly outdoor temperature.

As previously reported, in preparation for the 2025-2026 heating season, Kyivenergo conducts annual maintenance, repair, and verification of meters. This year, more than 2,400 meters are scheduled for verification, and an additional 1,100 are planned for repair.
