A new project by a young Ukrainian artist captivates with light and emotions born from simple moments of everyday life.

The Center of Contemporary Art 'White World' invites you to the exhibition 'From the Ceiling', where Sasha Lunova's new works, a talented representative of the Ukrainian art scene, open new horizons.

This time, the artist draws inspiration from an unconventional source — her ceiling, adorned with intricate relief patterns. The strange designs, reminiscent of childhood memories, became the foundation for her paintings.

The exhibition showcases naïve painting with surreal elements that sway between reality and dreams, creating a unique atmosphere.

"I just lay there, looking up and imagining beings emerging from the ceiling's relief... 'From the Ceiling' is about trusting your own thoughts. Sometimes you just need to look up," shares Sasha Lunova.

The artist notes that this series was created spontaneously, outside traditional concepts. Unlike previous works that were formed from texts, this exhibition resulted from an accidental observation — new characters, bright and sincere, came to her unexpectedly.

Curator Jeremy Dirac complements the project with a poetic text, attempting to comprehend this boundary:

"These are thoughts that arise from the depths of the subconscious. Strange creatures that emerge from an unknown source. Sometimes they appear already dressed and ready for a party; other times — just fragments that hold significance…".

The gallery notes that 'From the Ceiling' plays on contrasts: art descends from the heavens in both literal and metaphorical senses. The white walls of 'White World' reflect the artist's world — a world of naïveté, sincerity, and light madness.
