At the Kyiv railway station, Duda was welcomed by the temporary chargé d'affaires of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine, Piotr Lukasiewicz.
Background: Earlier in June, Duda informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he would visit Ukraine before the end of his presidential term.
Additionally, Duda held a meeting with his successor, Karol Nawrocki, during which the topic of Ukraine's NATO membership was discussed.
The Polish president expressed hope that Nawrocki, who had made anti-Ukrainian statements, would view Ukraine from a different perspective once in office.
