A new art installation has been unveiled in Obolon, created to honor the territorial defense fighters – the Kyiv residents who stood up to protect the capital and Ukraine during the full-scale invasion.

The sculptural composition titled "Awakening" aims to reflect the internal changes that every Ukrainian has undergone since the onset of the war. From initial shock and confusion to determination, strength, and unity. The first to show this determination were those who joined the territorial defense to safeguard their city.

The installation is strategically located in the northern part of the capital, as it was there in February 2022 that the Ukrainian army, including the Territorial Defense Brigades, held back the advance of the Russian military, which sought to capture Kyiv.

This project was implemented by the company OKKO as part of the initiative "Eye for an Eye" in collaboration with the charity fund "Come Back Alive".

The event was attended by military personnel who defended Kyiv. Our deep gratitude to them!

A moment of silence was observed to honor the memory of the fallen heroes.
